About The Position

This position involves teaching at the undergraduate or graduate level, depending on the degree held. The faculty member will be responsible for creating syllabi, delivering course objectives, advising and instructing students, and integrating technology into the learning process. The role also requires effective communication and professional interaction with students and other educational professionals.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree in content area or related field to teach at the undergraduate level OR minimum of a master’s degree with 18 hours of graduate level coursework in the specific content area.
  • Minimum of a doctoral degree in content area or related field to teach at the graduate level.
  • Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the academic discipline and in professional practice.
  • Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous college teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Create a syllabus and effectively deliver the learning objectives of the course.
  • Advise, instruct, manage, and motivate students and evaluate student learning.
  • Learn relevant sections of myLipscomb, Lipscomb University’s online integrated database system for entering final grades and other student information requested.
  • Effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
  • Successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
