Adjunct Faculty, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering
About The Position
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Rowan University is seeking energetic and innovative teacher-scholars as Adjunct Professors to support its growing programs. Adjunct Professors are typically active or retired academic or industry professionals who bring unique experiences and perspectives to the department. The successful candidates will be responsible for teaching innovative, project-based courses primarily in the electrical and computer engineering and electrical engineering technology programs. These courses may be core or elective, depending on the applicant’s area of expertise. The department values experiential and project-based learning, integrating emerging topics and technologies, and providing state-of-the-art resources to support these activities. All courses include lab/project components, and individuals who share this dedication, possess the skills and passion to develop innovative hands-on lab projects or other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools, and have the ability to integrate such projects/activities into the course content are sought.
Requirements
- Earned at least a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Effective communication skills.
- Capacity to collaborate with multi-disciplinary student and faculty teams.
- Capability to teach in a project-based environment.
- Eligibility to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Prior academic or industrial experience.
- Passion for hands-on, project-based teaching.
- Individuals with industry and/or academic experience are particularly encouraged to apply.
- 10 years or more of relevant industry experience, along with a Bachelor's degree, may, in some cases, be used in lieu of the Master of Science degree requirement.
Responsibilities
- Teaching innovative, project-based courses primarily in the electrical and computer engineering and electrical engineering technology programs.
- Developing innovative hands-on lab projects or other experiential learning activities using appropriate modern tools.
- Integrating projects/activities into the course content.
Benefits
- Minimum of $2,225 per credit for all courses taught.
- Maximum teaching load of 8 credits per semester and 12 credits in an academic year.
