Data Analytics, Department of Information Technology - Adjunct Faculty

University of Maryland Global Campus•San Diego, CA
•Onsite

About The Position

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) is hiring an Adjunct Faculty member in Data Analytics to teach on-site in San Diego, California. This opportunity is for local applicants; UMGC does not provide logistical support for the role. The instructor will teach adult learners using UMGC’s standardized, pre-designed curriculum and focus on mentoring, facilitating learning, and providing feedback rather than building courses. Course materials, rubrics, library resources, and digital textbooks are provided. Newly hired faculty receive online orientation and have access to ongoing professional development. Adjunct faculty are expected to maintain an active classroom presence, connect course concepts to professional practice, and foster an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment. They support student progress through timely communication and feedback, use available data tools to identify and reach out to at-risk learners, and collaborate with student-success and academic colleagues. The role also includes participation in UMGC faculty communities and training.

  • Participate in UMGC’s faculty community, including the Program Hub and ongoing training.

Benefits
