About The Position

The Department of Communication and Sociology at Abilene Christian University (ACU) invites applications for an adjunct position in communication. This role involves teaching a load equivalent to up to five courses per year, with potential assignments including public speaking, small group communication, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication, and other courses as determined by the department chair. ACU is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ, and this position requires the employee to be a professing Christian willing to support the university's Christian mission. ACU is an R2 university focused on integrating faith and learning, engaging in research with students, and educating students for Christian service and leadership. The department offers bachelor's and master's degrees in communication, an interdisciplinary minor in leadership, and hosts the ACU Speaking Center and a debate team.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in communication to teach at the undergraduate level.
  • A minimum of one year of college-level teaching experience.
  • A record of effective teaching.
  • Must be a professing Christian and willing to support the Christian mission of ACU.

Nice To Haves

  • Ph.D. in communication (may be assigned to teach graduate-level courses).
