About The Position

The College Success Department at Johnson County Community College is seeking student-focused adjunct instructors to teach one or more College Success classes starting Fall 2026. The position will be on campus during daytime or evening hours. Possible courses include Tuesday or Thursday evening, Tuesday/Thursday at 8 am, 11 am, Monday/Wednesday/Friday at 9 am, or other possible days/times, per department need. Training for teaching the College Success First-Year Experience courses at JCCC is required and will be provided on August 3 & 4, 2026, during daytime hours, 9-5.

Requirements

  • Master's degree.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer literacy skills.
  • Treat all members of the college community with dignity and respect, demonstrating inclusivity and civility, and engage in constructive conflict resolution.
  • 1 or more years of JCCC student-related service.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Zoom, Canvas/LMS systems, Google Drive, OneDrive, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of strategies for teaching diverse learners.
  • Prior experience teaching first-year seminar courses.
  • Community College teaching/tutoring experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in and commitment to ongoing professional development.
