About The Position
Lesley University’s Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach CMATH 1522 Introduction to Statistics for the Fall Semester 2026. This course is an in-person, on-campus offering. The course provides a general introduction to the fundamental concepts of probability and descriptive statistics. Students will learn methods for data collection, calculation, display, and analysis. The course emphasizes the advantages and limitations of statistical methods in investigating contemporary issues across science, health, education, management, and the social sciences. A research project involving descriptive statistics is required.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a closely related field
- Successful experience teaching mathematics courses at the undergraduate level
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered, inclusive, and equitable teaching practices
- Excellent verbal and communication skills
- Experience using learning management systems and educational technology
Nice To Haves
- PhD or terminal degree
- Experience in constructivist inquiry-based learning
