The University of Pikeville (UPIKE), the Leading University in Central Appalachia, is seeking adjunct faculty who are passionate about teaching and committed to student learning. We are currently seeking faculty in the fields of: Accounting Business Law Economics Finance Human Resources Information Technology Management Management Marketing Adjunct professors in the Coleman College of Business are expected to teach and fulfill the following responsibilities: Teaching the assigned business/ITM course, this includes lecture notes, presentation prep, exam questions prep, and syllabus prep. Participating in and recommending curriculum development and evaluation. Providing tutoring for students on an as-need basis. Responsibilities for all other duties as assigned by the Dean. Requirements: Must have a minimum of Master’s degree. Must have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the course you wish to teach. Must have excellent organizational, communication, teaching and decision-making skills. Prior college teaching experience is strongly preferred. Experience using Canvas and/or other web-based learning platform preferred. Faculty Expectations : Note that the University of Pikeville recognizes that effective educators are themselves life-long learners. Adjunct faculty members are encouraged to attend our professional development workshops whenever possible to improve use of educational technology, determine ways to better engage students, and reflect on methods to create the most effective environment for student growth.
