The School of Arts and Sciences seeks adjunct faculty to teach biochemistry recitations for the Fall 2026 semester. All sections are taught as face-to-face, in-person courses, on Fridays throughout the day. Successful candidates will have at least one year of experience teaching, preferably at the college level. During recitations, the recitation instructor will assist students working through practice problems and administer quizzes that are provided by the recitation coordinator/lecture instructor. Problem solving, as well as interpretation and analysis of data from the biochemical literature will be emphasized during recitations. Course description: Students learn the structure, metabolism, and biochemical function of major macromolecules (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids). Bioenergetics, enzyme kinetics, cell signaling, and regulation are studied at the molecular level. An emphasis is placed on cellular and physiological applications of biochemistry (in particular, competencies important for study in medical school).
