About The Position

Cecil College is seeking adjunct faculty to teach Anatomy & Physiology I. The lecture meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm-7:20pm, and the labs meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30pm-9:20pm. The semester runs from September 1, 2026, through December 17, 2026. Adjunct faculty are contract employees hired on a part-time basis to teach specific courses per academic term and are not eligible for benefits. Employees must be residents of Maryland or contiguous states and be authorized to work in the US.

Requirements

  • Must be residents of Maryland or the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or the District of Columbia.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the US; the College does not offer Visa sponsorships.
  • Adjunct Faculty may teach no more than 26 credit hours per fiscal year.

Responsibilities

  • Convey course material so that students can attain the instructional objectives of the course.
  • Complete a course assessment for courses taught, if requested by the Department Chairperson.
  • Ensure all course material is available to students the first day of class via Cecil College’s Learning Management system.
  • Meet program specific requirements for employment and supervision of students in any externship or capstone course.
  • Hold classes for the full amount of time specified.
  • Notify the Academic Affairs Office if there is an urgent reason to miss class.
  • Be reasonably accessible to students via email or in person, and return student assignments in a timely manner.
  • Hold office hours before or after class, a minimum of 30 minutes per week.
  • Advising modality should match teaching modality.
  • Facilitate quality learning experiences for students.
  • Develop and implement classroom lesson plans and learning activities, including lectures, videos, demonstrations, and role-play.
  • Teach specific hours or contact hours per week as assigned.
  • Assist with student remediation.
  • Use the College’s Academic Monitoring and Learning Management System to document attendance and grades per Cecil College procedures.
  • Submit grades and all other end-of-semester documentation in a timely manner.
  • Use the College email account assigned for College communications and check that account on a daily basis.
