About The Position

The College of Professional Studies at Northeastern University is seeking a part-time, non-tenure track faculty lecturer for its Bachelor of Science in Analytics program on the Oakland campus. This role involves teaching undergraduate courses both on-campus and online. The curriculum covers a range of analytics topics including data exploration, data engineering, probability and statistics, machine learning, data visualization, database management systems, data mining, predictive analytics, and artificial intelligence. The program is designed to equip working professionals with foundational analytics skills such as data preparation, analysis, transformation, modeling, prediction, forecasting, optimization, data-driven decision-making, and data storytelling, utilizing relevant tools and technologies. Graduates are prepared for entry and mid-level roles in analytics, machine learning, data science, data engineering, and AI across various professional domains and disciplines. The program emphasizes experiential learning linked to professional applications. Northeastern University's College of Professional Studies, established in 1960, is dedicated to lifelong experiential learning and offers over 90 programs to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students, both on-campus and online.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in an aligned discipline.
  • Analytics industry experience.
  • Demonstration of teaching, coaching, and/or training.
  • Valid work authorization in the United States throughout the entire appointment without Northeastern University’s sponsorship for a visa.
  • Ability to work with global student populations.

  • PhD in a scientific field or similar.
  • History of successful academic teaching (online/on-ground).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver engaging lectures and high-quality instruction on specified analytics subjects.
  • Foster an inclusive and interactive learning environment.
  • Evaluate and assess students’ progress through assignments, projects, and exams.
