About The Position

The Cline School of Music at North Greenville University is seeking an adjunct elementary music methods instructor. North Greenville University is a teaching university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention and maintains a tobacco and alcohol-free campus. All professors at NGU are expected to be orthodox Christians with a strong personal faith, serving as role models in piety and ethics. They should reflect on how their faith influences their discipline and be willing to mentor students in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty must annually affirm their understanding of and willingness to adhere to the Baptist Faith & Message 2000 and the University’s Statement on Human Flourishing.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Music Education or a related music field
• Understand and comply with FERPA regulations
• Support NGU’s mission statement and core values
• Commitment to a Christian lifestyle and character in keeping with the biblical model

Nice To Haves

• Preference will be given to applicants holding a terminal degree
• Experience and a passion for teaching

Responsibilities

• Teach the elementary methods course
• Prepare for course by organizing and becoming familiar with student material
• Prepare lesson plans and course material as required
• Effectively organize and present subject matter to students
• Objectively assess students for academic performance
• Ensure security of assessment tools and confidential documentation
• Effectively utilize Canvas learning management system
• Appropriately maintain student records, grades, and attendance to ensure accuracy
• Meet all university deadlines for syllabi and grade submission
