About The Position

The Division of Nursing and Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown is seeking applicants for an adjunct clinical nursing instructor position beginning in Spring 2027 to teach in the BSN program with CCNE accreditation. The undergraduate curriculum of the Pitt School of Nursing combines the latest in clinical theory with traditional nursing values that emphasize holistic patient care and gives students the opportunity to combine a strong theoretical base of biological and behavioral sciences with a foundation in the liberal arts. Primary responsibilities include teaching obstetric clinicals. The candidate must possess current clinical knowledge and skills and a passion for participating in the education of the next generation of registered nurses. Must have evidence proficiency with technology and commitment to innovative and evidence-based nursing education. The University is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their leadership, research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Requirements

  • Pennsylvania state RN license
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing required with expertise in specialty clinical area
  • Current clinical knowledge and skills
  • Proficiency with technology
  • Commitment to innovative and evidence-based nursing education

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related discipline
  • Previous teaching experience at the baccalaureate level
  • Recognition of expertise in the specialty area
