About The Position

The Division of Science and Mathematics at Newman University, a mission-driven, Catholic, liberal arts university, invites applicants for an adjunct instructor for the Fall 2026 Semester to teach a 3-credit hour undergraduate Nutrition course. In-person delivery is preferred; however, online delivery may be considered for a well-qualified candidate. The Fall 2026 semester begins on August 23, 2026. Adjunct faculty contribute to the enrichment of our curriculum and work collaboratively with our faculty with teaching, learning and assessment. Work Location & Residency Requirement: While this position might include online instruction, Newman University is only registered to employ workers in specific states due to state payroll and tax regulations. At this time, candidates must physically reside and perform all work within the State of Kansas or one of our pre-approved states (AR, AZ, CO, FL, IA, IL, MN, MO, OK, TX, VA or WI). Candidates residing in non-approved states cannot be considered for employment.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Biology (Doctorate degree preferred) or professional experience related to Nutrition.
• University level online teaching experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Candidates must physically reside and perform all work within the State of Kansas or one of our pre-approved states (AR, AZ, CO, FL, IA, IL, MN, MO, OK, TX, VA or WI).

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses as assigned in keeping with departmental, university and accreditation standards, policies, and procedures.
• Meet with the Division Chair a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the beginning of the course to review syllabus, course materials, etc.
• Inform students of their progress by promptly returning assignments, quizzes, and examinations with appropriate feedback.
• Submit mid-term and final grades on Jenzabar by designated deadlines.
• Utilize the Canvas Learning Management System and other technology as appropriate to deliver and enhance the learning experience.
