About The Position

The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Phlebotomy Non-Credit instruction for the 2027 Academic School Year. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work as professionals with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. Applicants with a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population are strongly encouraged to apply. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants for potential openings at one of LACCD's 9 colleges. Qualified applicants may be offered an interview with Health Care Ancillaries & Vocational Education Department members. Final determination of assignments is contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.

Requirements

  • Licensed or certified in California with one of the following: Physician and surgeon (MD or DO), Physician Assistant (PA), Registered Nurse (RN), Person licensed under Chapter 3 of the California Business and Professions Code, Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) with 2 years’ experience in the previous 5 years, Certified Phlebotomy technician (CPT I or CPT II) with 3 years of experience in the previous 5 years.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment; OR Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
  • A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
  • Vocational positions require experience verification on letterhead stationery showing inclusive dates of assignments, stating if full-time or part-time, and indicating duties. If part-time, the number of paid hours worked per week, semester or year must be included.
  • COVID 19 Vaccination: Pursuant to LACCD Board of Trustee's Policy 2900, all students and employees must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption. Newly hired employees are required to provide their vaccination status prior to starting a position or by their position start date.

  • Teach a range of courses within the Health Care Ancillaries/ Vocational Education discipline.
  • Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
  • Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members who span a diverse range of languages, nationalities and ethnicities, socio-economic levels, ages, identities, abilities and educational experiences.
