About The Position
The Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) is seeking dynamic, motivated, and diverse candidates for part-time faculty positions to engage and educate students in Interdisciplinary Basic Skills (Noncredit) courses for the 2025 Academic School Year. This posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants, and hiring locations will review applicants from this pool when openings arise. Successful candidates will collaborate, communicate, and work professionally with students, staff, faculty, and administrators. A demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population is strongly encouraged. Applicants can indicate their college interests during the application process. Qualified applicants may be offered interviews with Noncredit Education Department members at one or more of LACCD’s 9 colleges. Final assignments are contingent upon enrollment, funding, and class availability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any social science, humanities, mathematics, or natural science discipline or in liberal studies, as appropriate for the course.
- A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Medical certificate indicating fitness to engage in administrative work (at applicant’s expense prior to employment).
- Provide vaccination status or have an approved exemption in compliance with LACCD Board of Trustees’ policy.
Nice To Haves
- Demonstrated certification in Blackboard, Canvas, or Course Compass or other online modalities may be given preference.
Responsibilities
- Teach a range of courses within the Interdisciplinary Basic Skills (Noncredit) discipline.
- Promote engaging and inclusive educational environments that support student learning.
- Be culturally responsive in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Potentially conduct classes in a virtual learning environment using Canvas or other remote learning methods.

- Salary schedule for adjunct noncredit instructors begins at $86.85 per standard hour.
