About The Position

Carthage College is seeking an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Department of Nursing. This role involves teaching undergraduate students in various learning environments, including skills labs, simulation labs, and clinical organizations. The instructor will be responsible for evaluating student performance through formative and summative reviews, mentoring students to bridge classroom theory with clinical practice, and guiding them in developing critical thinking and clinical judgment skills. The position requires adherence to the philosophy, mission, and values of the Nursing Department.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a relevant field.
  • Unencumbered Wisconsin RN license and Illinois licensure if needed.
  • Must pass a criminal history and background check.
  • Up-to-date CPR certification and required immunizations.
  • Deep understanding of health assessments, medications, treatments, and diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate students in skills labs, simulation labs, and clinical organizations.
  • Provide formative (ongoing) and summative (final) student performance reviews.
  • Help students connect classroom theory to hands-on clinical practice.
  • Guide students in building critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
  • Follow the philosophy, mission, and values of the Nursing Department.
