About The Position

The Los Rios Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for a part-time, temporary (Adjunct) faculty position in Design & Digital Media, focusing on Graphic Design and Web Design. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for teaching assigned classes, helping students achieve mastery of course content, assessing student learning outcomes, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge in their field. This role also involves continuing professional development, utilizing current technology, maintaining professional conduct, assisting with curriculum development, serving on college committees, and participating in faculty governance. Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the area dean.

Requirements

  • Have any bachelor’s degree or higher AND two years of professional experience; OR any associate degree AND six years of professional experience; OR the equivalent.
  • Professional experience is required when the applicant possesses a master’s degree.
  • The professional experience required must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
  • All degrees must be from an accredited institution completed by time of hire.
  • Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.

  • Degree titles must match the stated qualifications exactly (word-for-word). If the degree title differs, or if it contains added, missing, or rearranged words, applicants must submit a completed Equivalency Determination Request Form.
  • Transcripts must be from an accredited U.S. institution or approved foreign evaluation agency.
  • Foreign transcript evaluations must be issued by an AICE or NACES member agency.
  • If more than one degree is required to meet the Minimum Qualifications, separate transcripts for each degree must be included.
  • Transcripts must clearly identify the institution's name, degree title, major and/or certifications.
  • Transcripts must indicate whether each degree is completed (confer date) or in progress.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
  • Only information listed on the application and transcripts will be used to verify Minimum Qualifications.
