About The Position

The Department of Biological Sciences seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Assistant pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters. The specific laboratory courses available vary from semester to semester and openings to lead these labs develop on a periodic basis, depending upon department needs, sufficient student enrollment, and dean approval. Adjunct Assistants lead labs under the direction of an Instructional Lab Supervisor or faculty. Lab courses may include, but are not limited to, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science, General Biology, Physical Anthropology & Human Evolution, Parasitology, Immunology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Forensic (polarized light) Microscopy, and Forensic Molecular Biology. Note, this position includes locations in Denton, Frisco and Online.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 18 hours of advanced coursework in the Biological Sciences (or related area specific to the laboratory course).
  • Submit a minimum of two professional references as part of their application.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in the field of study specific to the laboratory course assignment such as Biology, Biochemistry/Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Ecology, etc.
  • One year of demonstrated college-level laboratory instruction experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead labs under the direction of an Instructional Lab Supervisor or faculty.
  • Teach laboratory courses such as Human Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science, General Biology, Physical Anthropology & Human Evolution, Parasitology, Immunology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Animal Physiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Forensic (polarized light) Microscopy, and Forensic Molecular Biology.
