About The Position

The University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Department of Cardiology, has an opening for a part-time (10.25% FTE) Adjoint Professor of Research. This role involves engaging in clinical research activities, supporting business development, providing scientific leadership and mentorship, and overseeing scientific publications and presentations. The position is located in Aurora, CO, and is expected to be performed onsite.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 or more years of experience in academic clinical research activities with demonstration of expertise across a range of methodologies/designs, disease states, and therapeutic mechanisms.
  • A track record of successful funding and academic output including high priority journals and findings.
  • Evidence of scientific credibility include federal and sponsored grants awarded as well as publications in high quality journals that demonstrate excellence in the design, conduct, and reporting on large multi-centered clinical trials.
  • History of successfully mentoring and overseeing clinical research activities, faculty, and fellows.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in activities for proposed and ongoing CPC clinical research activities including synopsis/protocol development, participation in clinical trial leadership committees, statistical analysis plans, publications and presentations.
  • Provide leadership in research projects and scientific initiatives as determined by CPC Executive Director and Executive Committee.
  • Support CPC business development by identifying new clinical research, education and implementation science opportunities, initiatives and sources of funding.
  • Work directly with industry sponsors, NIH and private foundations to identify new opportunities that utilize CPC’s core faculty, operations and services.
  • Define appropriate next steps for each new opportunity, including developing and working with a project team.
  • Provide scientific leadership and mentorship for CPC faculty, fellows, residents and students.
  • Provide guidance and support for CPC faculty, fellows and residents by mentoring their research projects and publications.
  • Provide career counseling to support faculty development.
  • Assist in faculty evaluations and provide feedback to the CSO and Executive Director.
  • Liaise between CPC and the University of Colorado and affiliates to develop and support scientific and research initiatives and collaborations.
  • Oversee scientific publications and presentations as determined by Executive Director.
