About The Position

As a member of the Adult services team and under the general direction of the Manager, the primary goal will be to assess, counsel and develop comprehensive recovery and case management plans which will restore, maintain or enhance the recovery of people seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues. Responsibilities will include the provision of best practice methodology to assess & screen clients, and to provide individual & group counseling. The position will be expected to provide educational sessions and group therapy in the Day Treatment Program as required. Requirements

  • Experience with group therapy and addiction assessments and interventions.
  • Bachelor of Chemical Dependency
  • Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

  • Knowledge in various mental health disorders and stability interventions

  • Demonstrates knowledge of a Holistic Addiction Treatment Model

  • Knowledge with treating substance and/or substance dependence & the effects
  • Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals
  • Knowledge in best practices in addictions and harm reduction strategies

  • Knowledge and ability to monitor withdrawal symptoms related to substance use.
