About The Position

This is a full-time evening position (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM) at Geisinger Marworth. The Addiction Treatment/Recovery Specialist will monitor and support patients, facilitate recovery-oriented activities, and assist with various groups and meetings. This role involves providing support during evenings and weekends, de-escalating patient emotional reactions, collecting bio-psycho-social data, and managing initial family contacts and visitations. The specialist will also orient new patients to the facility, monitor patients during free time and bedtime, and communicate significant events to key staff. Work is performed in a clinical environment, and adherence to organizational policies and procedures is expected.

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)

Previous addiction treatment or recovery experience preferred

Responsibilities

Monitors and provides support to patients and facilitate various recovery-oriented activities.
Facilitates or assists with adjunct groups/meetings and performs all associated duties, including documentation.
Provides support to patients during evenings and weekends, and when needed, help to de-escalate any emotional reactions patients might have.
Collects appropriate data on bio-psycho-socials.
Completes initial family contacts and provide information on family services and document appropriately and facilitates sign-up for Family Day Program and monitor family visitations.
Provides new patients with general orientation to the facility, including but not limited to, introducing new patient, initial assignments, buddy system and introduction to the facility rules and regulations.
Monitors patients during free time and their preparation for bedtimes and conduct bed and room checks.
Communicates significant events via communication log, patient charts and verbally to key staff.
