About The Position

Rosecrance is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as an Addiction Counselor for the Women's Residential Program in Sioux City. This role is integral to a multidisciplinary team, serving as a primary counselor in delivering substance use disorder treatment services to clients and their families. The counselor will help clients integrate recovery into their daily lives by developing individual treatment goals, facilitating group and individual therapy, and documenting progress in the electronic medical record using evidence-based therapies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field or commensurate experience and training preferred.
  • Minimum tCADC/CADC, LBSW, LMSW, tLMHC/LMHC or other state or national licensure that supersedes the tCADC or obtain within six months of hiring.
  • Associate's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field required AND a tCADC/CADC.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems strongly preferred.
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation within prescribed time frames.
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family, and group counseling.
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff, or community resources.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
  • Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within the required time frame.
  • Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs.
  • Educate clients and their support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues, and steps to recovery.
  • Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
  • Ensure that documentation in the client service record is maintained consistent with expectations defined by licensure, TJC, and Medicaid regulations.
  • Maintain communications with all staff (e.g., admissions, case management, and discharge plans).
  • Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
  • Present workshops, lectures, and training to clients, families, staff, and community groups.
  • Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
  • Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients, and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
  • Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned by management.
