About The Position

Rosecrance is seeking dedicated individuals to join their team as Addiction Counselors for the Women's Residential Program in Sioux City. This role is integral to a multidisciplinary team, serving as a primary counselor in delivering substance use disorder treatment services to clients and their families. The counselor will facilitate the integration of recovery into daily living, develop individual treatment goals with clients, conduct group and individual therapy, and document progress in an electronic medical record using evidence-based therapies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field or commensurate experience and training preferred; OR Associate's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Addiction Studies or other related field required.
  • Minimum tCADC/CADC, LBSW, LMSW, tLMHC/LMHC or other state or national licensure that supersedes the tCADC or obtain within six months of hiring.
  • A tCADC/CADC is required if an Associate's degree is held.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete required documentation within prescribed time frames.
  • Skilled in conducting individual, family, and group counseling.
  • Ability to present and coordinate lectures for clients, parents, staff, or community resources.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • Belief in the mission and vision of Rosecrance.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct individual, group, and family counseling and educational sessions for clients and/or family members.
  • Complete client psychosocial and individualized treatment plan within required time frame.
  • Identify client clinical and case management needs and work to address those needs.
  • Educate client and client support members regarding all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
  • Undertake primary case management responsibilities for designated clients.
  • Ensure that documentation in client service record is maintained consistent with expectations defined by licensure, TJC and Medicaid regulations.
  • Maintain communications with all staff (e.g. admissions, case management and discharge plans).
  • Assume on-call responsibilities per schedule or when designated.
  • Present workshops, lectures and training to clients, families, and staff and community groups.
  • Be familiar with court proceedings and available to make court appearances on behalf of Rosecrance clients.
  • Serve as a member of the team and participate in all team meetings and activities.
  • Exercise confidentiality in keeping with the Code of Conduct and with the framework of the law.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service consistently to every customer.
  • Serve as a role model for other staff, clients and customers and demonstrate positive guest relations in representing Rosecrance.
  • Assume other related responsibilities as delegated and assigned by management.
