About The Position

The Adaptive Recreation Program Specialist will plan, coordinate, and implement community-based sports and recreation programs for people with disabilities. This role involves assessing and evaluating programs, recruiting and training volunteers and interns, maintaining databases and equipment inventory, and serving as a resource to participants, families, volunteers, and community partners. The specialist will also assist in creating marketing and fundraising materials and participate in events and conferences.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required
1 to 3 years of experience working with people with disabilities
Experience with adaptive sports and recreational activities
Experience using Microsoft Suite including TEAMS
Microsoft Office
WordPress
BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support
Minnesota or Wisconsin Driver's license

Nice To Haves

Preferred degree in Therapeutic recreation, Recreation Management, Special Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Sports Management or related field
Experience with charitable giving and donor relationships
Group facilitation and presentation experience
Experience in creating Social Media posts (FACEBOOK, Instagram, Linked-In, etc.)
Experience with database management (data entry, reports, queries)

Responsibilities

Plan, coordinate, and implement community-based sports and recreation programs for people with disabilities
Assess, gather data, and evaluate all adaptive programs
Recruit, train, and lead volunteers and interns who work with program participants and/or assist with the organization’s operations
Maintain participant, volunteer, and donor database
Maintain adaptive equipment supply and inventory
Serve as a resource to program participants, their families, volunteers and community partners
Assist in creating marketing, program, and fundraising materials and social media posts
Participate in events and conferences
