About The Position
The City of Issaquah Parks and Community Services is looking for Adaptive Recreation Aides to support its Adaptive Recreation programming! The Adaptive Recreation program is designed for individuals in the Issaquah area with intellectual, developmental, physical, and/or neurological disabilities. The program provides a range of activities for participants to choose from including recreational, social, and enrichment opportunities and Aides would assist in these programs. Hours vary: 2 – 17 hours / Week Weekday, Weeknight & Weekend opportunities
Requirements
- Minimum Age of 18 years, preferred.
- Current CPR/AED certification required.
- All qualified applicants, 18 years and older, must pass a criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist with activity preparation, implementation & clean-up in various programs including sports, social events, outings, etc.
- Observe applicable safety requirements and implement appropriate safety practices at all times.
- Supervise & engage with participants to help create a positive experience.
- Foster engagement between participants.
- Ensure participants connect & depart premises with parents, caregivers, or planned transportation upon program conclusion.
