Pratt & Whitney’s Mechanical Systems, Externals and Nacelles (MSEN) organization is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Adaptive Engines Mechanical Systems Product Owner to join the Mechanical Systems Product Owner team supporting Adaptive Engines Mechanical Systems. In this role, you will own part-level Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) scope, leading planning and execution to ensure the Scrum Team achieves overall component goals. You will collaborate directly with engineering management, program management, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, an effective communicator, and experienced in design, manufacturing, development, and validation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Relevant experience in one or more of the following industries: Manufacturing, Military, Logistics, Aerospace, or Aviation.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with experience in the aerospace or turbofan engine industry.
  • Basic understanding of Pratt & Whitney’s Leadership Operating Model (LOM) or a similar operating model.
  • Agile project management experience, including working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams on strategic projects and initiatives, with strong resourcefulness and problem-solving skills to address complex vendor- and customer-facing challenges.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement, Lean, CORE, ACE, or Six Sigma, along with the ability to mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using tools/systems such as Solumina, SAP, Teamcenter, or similar applications.

Responsibilities

  • Own part-level CIPT scope, including planning, communication, risk management, and execution of program requirements.
  • Lead the Scrum Team in identifying, managing, and closing key technical risks and issues.
  • Lead the Scrum Team through technical and program reviews and ensure deliverables remain aligned with program objectives.
  • Manage Scrum Team schedules, budgets, technical metrics, and business metrics to meet program requirements.
  • Perform Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Control Account Manager (CAM) activities for assigned Scrum Team scope.
  • Collaborate with customers, System Integrated Product Teams (SIPTs), Integrated Program Management Teams (IPMTs), senior management, suppliers, and cross-functional organizations; provide technical support for engine validation builds and testing.
