About The Position

Cross Country Education is hiring an Adapted Physical Education (APE) Teacher to support K–12 students at schools across Los Angeles, California. The role offers autonomy while working as part of a collaborative special education team. Assignments may be matched to the teacher’s availability to accommodate retirement-hour limits, with travel to one or a few assigned school sites; nearby locations are prioritized when possible. The position follows a school-year schedule, with summers and school breaks off.

Compensation is $46–$55 per hour, with weekly direct deposit. The position includes paid mileage and drive time between school sites. Comprehensive benefits and paid time off are based on role and hours. Materials for services and assessments are provided, along with a laptop stipend or a company-provided laptop. Teachers receive support from a dedicated team and individual coaching for career growth.

Requirements

• Valid California teaching credential with APE authorization, or current enrollment in an APE credential program.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized physical education instruction based on students’ IEP goals.
• Conduct assessments and track student progress.
• Travel to assigned school sites.
• Collaborate with special education teams.
• Participate in IEP meetings.
