About The Position

The Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a ADA Title II Coordinator. DDD provides individuals with developmental disabilities, and their families, services and supports that are flexible, high quality, and member driven. These services provide individuals with opportunities to exercise their rights and responsibilities of independent decision-making and engagement in the community. All work, including remote work, should be performed within Arizona unless an exception is properly authorized in advance.

Requirements

  • Google Suite including, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets and Hangouts.
  • Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
  • Federal requirements related to Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations, state, laws, rules, and regulations related to the Division of Developmental Disabilities and AHCCCS.
  • Cultural and linguistic competency principles and concepts.
  • Systems of care and wraparound philosophy and practice, community based services and supports with an orientation to member-driven, guided and culturally relevant systems and services.
  • Microsoft Office, conflict resolution, coaching, cross cultural.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Analyzing complex problems and identifying and implementing solutions
  • Facilitating presentations in different formats.
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively with culturally diverse members, staff, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Flexible, creative, assertive and able to work on multiple tasks and multidisciplinary environments.
  • Analyze various data reports, search, evaluate, and make decisions.
  • Provide leadership to groups and individuals.
  • Plan, organize, and manage time effectively.
  • Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-1968 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Driver’s License Requirements if driving is an essential function.
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a point of contact for ADA Title II Division-related issues.
  • Assisting Division staff and contractors with processing ADA reasonable modification requests for members, families, and individuals from the public who may have a disability.
  • Working with OEO to identify and implement a reasonable modification when the request cannot be fulfilled at the Division level.
  • Reporting information about implemented reasonable modifications to OEO.
  • Coordinating with OEO to complete the annual ADA Title II survey.
  • Consulting on cases with DDD clinicians and with external entities such as the Attorney General’s Office, AHCCCS, and other state agencies.
  • Attending Person Centered Service Plan (PCSP) and Ad hoc meetings as needed.
  • On behalf of the manager may serve as a bridge between the Division and cultural communities, resources, members, families, providers, community agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Advocate on behalf of cultural communities within the Division's systems of care (e.g., Qualified Vendors, DDD Health Plans, State Operated Services) and partner with agencies to support Division members.
  • Represent the Division during local and national Cultural Competency events.
  • Attend Person Centered Service Plan (PCSP) and Ad hoc meetings as needed by Division staff and other entities.
