About The Position

This is responsible technical work in conducting ADA complementary paratransit eligibility determinations, interviews and functional testing, transit orientation, and path of travel assessments to/from residences and bus stops. Requires National Transit Institute training on Comprehensive ADA Paratransit Eligibility Determinations. The employee works under the general supervision of the Paratransit Supervisor and must exercise judgment and discretion in achieving desired results. Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience working with people with disabilities and/or mobility training, including computer experience related to the duties of the position.
  • Ability to meet the travel requirements of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with multicultural communities.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct paratransit eligibility assessments in-person with applicants for paratransit service
  • Gather and review verifications of disability
  • Determine applicants' appropriate mode of transportation, along with accessibility requirements
  • Process application paperwork within federal timelines
  • Compile data and statistics for federal reporting
  • Make necessary referrals for additional services
  • Audit software scheduled rides for efficiency and productivity
  • Communicate with various parties about daily schedule adjustments
  • Verify accuracy of bookings
  • Finalize daily schedules and send manifests to providers
  • Create, revise, and maintain correspondence and notifications (in software including Word) and customer files
  • Initiate, answer, and return calls and emails
  • Schedule appointments and transportation and maintain appointment calendar
  • Provide administrative support for triennial re-certification process
  • Read, review, and categorize paratransit feedback
  • Perform related work as required.
