About The Position

Texas Health Heart and Vascular Hospital is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process, including assessment, planning of care, and technical skills. The Nurse Practitioner will conduct comprehensive health histories, perform advanced health assessments, and synthesize knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to provide therapeutic interventions. Collaboration with the multidisciplinary team is essential to improve care processes and ensure continuity of care. The position is located at Texas Health Heart and Vascular Hospital in Arlington, TX, a 47-bed facility specializing in cardiac surgeries and treatments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, graduate of an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Master's Degree, graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program is required.
  • RN - Registered Nurse is required upon hire.
  • APRN - Advanced Practice Nurse is required upon hire.
  • ACNP - Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is required upon hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required.
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
  • Utilizes principles and skills in communication and interviewing techniques in obtaining a comprehensive health history to formulate a plan of care and make decisions for appropriate therapeutic interventions
  • Uses principles and skills in advanced health assessment for differentiating normal and abnormal findings
  • Synthesizes knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology, culture, and socioeconomics to access, evaluate, and provide therapeutic interventions to patients
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to improve care processes in order to promote continuity of care
  • Initiates actions to meet patients/families' needs
  • Takes actions to reduce patients risks
  • Performs specialty specific technical procedures safely and proficiently
