About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant (NP PA) to join their Neurosurgery team in Arizona. This role involves working cooperatively with physicians, NPs, PAs, nurses, and other allied health personnel to deliver care to Neurosurgical patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The position is 100% on the hospital campus and is a non-surgical role. The selection process may include an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview.

Requirements

• Acute care certification is required for NP applicants.
• Acute Care Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current AZ RN and APRN license and certification as a ACNP.
• Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the AZ State Board of Medical Practice.
• Active BLS and ACLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.
• Excellent verbal, written and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership ability.
• Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs.
• Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.

Nice To Haves

• 2-5 years of clinical experience is preferred.
• Strong computer skills in an Electronic Medical Record preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a patient history
• Perform a physical examination
• Conduct a comprehensive assessment
• Order, conduct and interpret diagnostic tests
• Formulate a diagnostic impression
• Develop and implement a treatment plan
• Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions
• Prescribe pharmacological agents and treatments and non-pharmacological therapies
• Facilitate appropriate consultations and referrals
• Provide counseling and education to meet patient needs
