About The Position

The Acupuncture Practitioner is a complementary health practitioner who takes a holistic approach to the maintenance of health and management of disease, focusing on improving the overall wellbeing of patients throughout the Integrative Medicine Clinic. This role works closely with the IM Medical Director to ensure that evidence-based therapies are provided to patients. The ideal candidate will also be able to provide acupuncture services as a licensed Acupuncturist. The practitioner provides safe, effective, and appropriate acupuncture services to clients with and without a cancer diagnosis, taking into account individual patient's special physical or age-related needs. This individual is also expected to participate in clinical research sponsored by the IM Program. Providence caregivers are valued and empowered to deliver patient-focused, whole-person care.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Acupuncture, or Doctorate in Acupuncture
  • Upon hire: Oregon Acupuncturist License
  • 1 year of Oncology experience

  • 3 years of Clinical patient experience

Responsibilities

  • Take a holistic approach to the maintenance of health and management of disease with focus on improving overall wellbeing of patients throughout the Integrative Medicine Clinic
  • Work closely with the IM Medical Director to ensure that evidence-based therapies are provided to our patients
  • Provide safe, effective and appropriate acupuncture services to clients with and without a cancer diagnosis, taking into account individual patient's special physical or age-related needs
  • Perform health history on clients and update prior to each session
  • Ascertain precautions/contradictions for acupuncture prior to each session
  • Explain procedures and apply techniques appropriate to client needs and preferences
  • Observe client reactions to services and modify as necessary
  • Solicit feedback and respond accordingly
  • Document all sessions performed according to established guidelines
  • Participate in the clinical research sponsored by the IM Program
