About The Position

The Actuary Intern will work closely with a collaborative team and participate in a broad range of actuarial work. The role offers opportunities to build actuarial skills within an organization that supports work-life balance. The intern will contribute to actuarial data reconciliation, annual financial reporting, annuity calculations, and preparation of actuarial information for a board meeting. The current work schedule is hybrid and may change. Sponsorship is not available; applicants must have unrestricted work authorization.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
• Have at least one semester remaining after the internship to complete all degree requirements.
• Hold unrestricted work authorization; sponsorship is not available.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the annual actuarial reconciliation process for System data.
• Draft information, charts, and graphs for the Actuarial and Statistical sections of the System’s Annual Financial Report.
• Work with outside auditors and System accountants to prepare the System’s Annual Financial Report.
• Prepare actuarial annuity values and option factors in accordance with statute, including option factors for alternative options and domestic relation orders.
• Prepare actuarial information for the July board meeting.
