About The Position

The Actuary Intern works with a highly collaborative team and participates in a broad range of actuarial duties. The role offers opportunities to develop actuarial skills within an organization that supports work-life balance. Applicants must have unrestricted work authorization; sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor’s or master’s degree program in mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
• Have at least one semester remaining to complete all degree requirements following the internship.
• Hold unrestricted work authorization; employment visa sponsorship is unavailable now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the annual actuarial reconciliation process for System data.
• Draft information, charts, and graphs for the Actuarial and Statistical sections of the System’s Annual Financial Report.
• Work with outside auditors and System accountants to prepare the System’s Annual Financial Report.
• Prepare actuarial annuity values and option factors in accordance with statute, including option factors for alternative options and domestic relation orders.
• Prepare actuarial information for the July board meeting.
