About The Position

Westland Insurance Group Ltd is growing and has an exciting opportunity for an Actuarial Analyst to join our growing team. This hybrid role is based out of our Head Office in Surrey, BC. As an Actuarial Analyst, you’ll have the unique opportunity to lay the foundation for how Westland can leverage data to make important decisions.

Requirements

• You love numbers and have a strong background in math, statistics or equivalent such as a bachelor’s degree in those areas or related fields.
• You can translate complex information and findings for business leaders.
• At least two years’ experience in a data analytics role.
• Previous experience with data analysis and modeling using SQL, R, and Python.

Nice To Haves

• You strive to understand the data and love seeking ways to improve the quality of the data and reporting.
• You enjoy collaborating with others to identify and prioritize use cases for analysis and build out models to answer business questions.
• Experience in P&C insurance.

Responsibilities

• Working with IT and others to design and improve the quality of our data and reporting by understanding current and future data analysis needs, business opportunities and risks.
• Continuously seek out and identify areas to improve data reporting practices, data quality, and processes.
• Prepare and present findings to diverse audiences, including partners.
