About The Position

We are currently seeking Actuarial Analysts to join our Actuarial Resource Pool. Canada Life is a leading global financial services company with operations in Canada, the US, and Europe. Opportunities for full-time actuarial employment exist in Winnipeg. The purpose of the Actuarial Resource Pool is to allow aspiring Actuaries to gain a wide variety of exposure to different areas in the company through bi-annual rotations while they progress toward their Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries. As an Actuarial Analyst you are a key member of a highly respected, professional, actuarial team and will have an opportunity to work in many areas, including but not limited to: Pricing & Product Development, Valuation, Enterprise Risk Management, Reinsurance, Marketing, Corporate Actuarial, Internal Audit, Asset Liability Management. Requirements

  • University degree (preferably with a major in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Finance)
  • Strong achievements in academic studies
  • Demonstrated commitment to passing Society of Actuaries exams
  • Innovative problem-solver
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Well organized, delivering accurate work with an attention to detail, in a timely manner
  • Team player who is also comfortable working independently
  • Advanced Excel, Word, VBA and MS Access skills

Responsibilities

  • Gain a wide variety of exposure to different areas in the company through bi-annual rotations while they progress toward their Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries and Canadian Institute of Actuaries.
  • Work in areas including, but not limited to: Pricing & Product Development, Valuation, Enterprise Risk Management, Reinsurance, Marketing, Corporate Actuarial, Internal Audit, Asset Liability Management.
