The Actuarial Analyst provides actuarial support by developing and communicating analyses that inform pricing, financial forecasts, IBNR estimates, provider risk arrangement targets, and strategic decisions. The analyst attends meetings to discuss the business impact of assumptions, evaluates scenarios, and provides impact assessments to help inform decisions. The role also helps establish targets for pricing, budgeting, risk arrangements, and other third-party contracts, and assists other departments—including Underwriting, Data & Analytics, Provider, Pharmacy, Product, and Finance—with pricing and profitability questions. The analyst completes work and updates models with support from a more senior actuary. The role emphasizes learning core analytical concepts and business areas, providing descriptive analytics, seeking feedback and assistance, and communicating clearly when support is needed. The analyst uses tools such as Microsoft Office, business intelligence tools, and other relevant tools to summarize results.
