Plannera Pensions & Benefits (Plannera), formerly known as the Public Employees’ Benefits Agency, is on the lookout for talented individuals to become part of our dynamic team of 180 employees. Headquartered in Regina, Saskatchewan, Plannera oversees $17 billion in assets across 11 pension plans and 16 benefits programs in the province. As a not-for-profit corporation, we take pride in administering two of Canada's top 100 pension plans—the Public Employees Pension Plan (PEPP), the country’s largest defined contribution plan, and the Municipal Employees' Pension Plan (MEPP). We serve over 900 employers and more than 112,000 plan members, everyone from small-town firefighters to crown corporation executives.

Requirements

  • A university degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or a related field
  • Progress toward, or completion of, a professional actuarial designation (ACIA, ASA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in pension, benefits, insurance, consulting, financial analysis, or a related actuarial environment would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

  • Providing actuarial analysis, forecasting, and modelling to support pension and benefit plan sustainability, funding, and decision-making
  • Conducting research and analysis related to demographic, financial, legislative, and industry trends impacting pension and benefit programs
  • Supporting actuarial valuations, financial reporting, experience studies, and funding analysis for pension and benefit plans
  • Monitoring and interpreting legislative, regulatory, accounting, and industry developments impacting pension and benefit plan administration
  • Collaborating with internal teams, external actuaries, auditors, consultants, and advisors to support organizational initiatives and governance requirements
  • Preparing reports, recommendations, and presentations for leadership, committees, and governing bodies while translating complex actuarial concepts into clear and practical information
  • Identifying opportunities to improve actuarial processes, reporting, analytics, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement and modernization initiatives
