About The Position

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi is hiring an Actuarial Analyst to analyze healthcare costs, risk, pricing, forecasting, and other projects that support improved quality and total cost of care. The role involves gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data; updating and monitoring actuarial forecasting models; and preparing financial, enrollment, and ad hoc reports to support corporate decision-making and communicate results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or another related field.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to clearly explain complex information and ask clarifying questions to ensure communication is well understood.
• Written communication skills to produce accurate, objective, clear, constructive, and complete communications and reports.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum GPA of 3.25.
• One SOA exam passed.
• Working knowledge of databases, SAS, and/or SQL to build queries that join correlated data for analysis or reporting.

Responsibilities
