About The Position

The Ohio Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is seeking an Activity Therapy Specialist 2 for its Northwest Ohio Behavioral Healthcare Campus. This role involves planning, organizing, and facilitating a comprehensive program of recreational, art, or music therapy/adjunctive therapy (AT) for an assigned unit. The specialist will conduct therapy sessions using defined techniques, perform individual and group therapy for evaluation and skills development, and complete documentation to Joint Commission and CMS standards. This position is a primary member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, responsible for evaluating patients and formulating/implementing individual treatment plans. This is an hourly, part-time position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit, with a pay range of 29 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule. Requirements

  • 42 mos. exp. in activity therapy or recreation or 42 mos. exp. providing work direction to incarcerated persons & training &/or development.
  • OR The completion of associate degree in recreation or specialty area (e.g., music, art, drama, dance); 24 mos. exp. in activity therapy.
  • OR The completion of undergraduate core program in recreation or specialty area (e.g., music, art, drama); 18 mos. exp. in activity therapy.
  • OR 12 mos. exp. as Activity Therapy Specialist 1, 44213.
  • OR The equivalent of the Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment Noted Above.
