This position plans, organizes, conducts, and ensures the implementation of a clinical adjunctive therapy program/services for inmates assigned to residential treatment units. The role directs and monitors all aspects of psychiatric patient day-to-day activities, promotes self-care and physical and mental well-being, and provides direction and assistance in the care, treatment, and/or programs to inmates. The specialist carries out inmate or group treatment delineated by the multidisciplinary treatment team, promotes activities to inmates on and off the unit, and monitors and instructs treatment plan programs. This role also involves assisting with subduing violent inmates, attending to and monitoring inmates, recognizing unusual and/or threatening conditions, and taking appropriate action. Additionally, the position involves preparing and maintaining work-related documentation, assisting in administering treatments as directed, facilitating treatment with appropriate interventions, conducting one-on-one communication with inmates, leading and participating with inmates in activities, and attending interdisciplinary team meetings. The role also includes completing quality assurance monitoring and documentation, mandatory training, and performing various miscellaneous tasks as needed.
