About The Position

Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician-directed care and RN supervision. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) certification required
  • Ability to Communicate in English
  • BLS required
  • Must be able to pass Background and Drug Test screenings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in inpatient setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists with direct client care by planning, organizing, and leading recreation programs.
  • Assesses client leisure needs and develops behavioral treatment plans, goals, and interventions.
  • Works with administrative and social work, nursing, psychology, and therapy to ensure that recreation is well-balanced, coordinated, and integrated with special services.
  • Attends and participates in treatment team meetings and select therapeutic groups when program schedule permits.
  • Establishes relationships with all community agencies providing recreation therapy services.
  • Establishes, initiates, organizes, and conducts the recreation therapy treatment program including leisure education, aerobics, creative expression, and special events such as birthdays, holidays, and graduation parties.
  • Develops a weekly schedule of planned client activities.
