About The Position

South Sound Behavioral Hospital is hiring an Activity Therapist to plan and implement activity services for an assigned program. As a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team, the therapist defines and implements treatment goals and provides continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling. The position is full-time and based at South Sound Behavioral Hospital in Lacey, Washington, on the day shift. The stated compensation range is $28.00–$36.00 per hour.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in occupational, art, music, or recreational therapy, humanities, social work, or a related therapeutic discipline.
Certification or licensure by the State of Washington and/or a national governing body in art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.
Successful completion of CPR certification.
Successful completion of CPI within 30 days of employment and before assisting with a restraining procedure.
May be required to work overtime and flexible hours.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree.
One year of related experience.
Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques and understanding of mental illness.
