About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a Seasonal, full-time Activity Operator for the Summer 2026 season. This role involves operating and inspecting various attractions, ensuring guest safety and enjoyment, and promoting the resort's offerings. The position requires a high level of safety consciousness, excellent guest interaction skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment. Operators will be trained on all activities, including Lifts, Quad Power Bungee Jump, Go Karts, Coaster, Wreck Tangle, Zip Line, Scenic Chair Ride, Bumper Boats, Super Tube Carpet, and Coaster Cart.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand outside in the sun/rain for extended periods of time.
  • Must be willing to work 5 days/week, weekends and holidays included.
  • Must be willing to work as early as 4:00 AM and as late as midnight.
  • Must be fluent in English to read, write and speak.
  • Mandatory training and passing a written test required.
  • Must comply with Copper’s grooming standards.
  • Must desire an outdoor job that requires manual labor.
  • Must follow strict safety guidelines in the inspection and operation of all activity machinery.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must be able to recognize and respond to audible signals (i.e. telephones, beeper system and guest questions).
  • This position may require the use of a mountain radio/walkie-talkies for communication.
  • Must have outstanding attendance and punctuality.
  • Must have previous outstanding guest service demonstrated through a friendly, animated approach.
  • Must have outstanding verbal skills to deliver safety briefings and instructions.
  • Must have a high level of safety consciousness and the ability to follow established safety protocols and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and operate Lifts, Quad Power Bungee Jump, Go Karts, Coaster, Wreck Tangle, Zip Line, Scenic Chair Ride, Bumper Boats, Super Tube Carpet, and Coaster Cart.
  • Perform daily set-up and inspection of all activities each morning.
  • Elevate each guest’s experience by providing extensive interaction in the safe and enjoyable use of each activity.
  • Ensure strict ticket security and scanning at all activities.
  • Actively direct the proper and efficient loading & unloading of guests through communication, awareness, and decision making.
  • Execute the daily pre-operational inspection of lift machinery and complete a legal lift log document, reporting any irregularities.
  • Execute daily pre-operational inspection of bungee, go kart, Wreck Tangle, and Coaster machinery and equipment.
  • Instruct guests on guidelines and proper technique/use for each activity apparatus.
  • Foster excellent guest relations through positive interaction and animation.
  • Administer emergency procedures such as lift breakdown, evacuation, fire, and accident reporting.
  • Promote Copper’s products, services, and events.
  • Uphold the most professional image and act as an ambassador for Copper Mountain.
  • Strive to exceed guest expectations and create memories for guests and staff.
