About The Position

The Camp Aspen Snowmass Activities Lead Attendant is responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences by overseeing outdoor programming and activity venues. This role involves leading groups of children and/or adults in daily recreational activities, supervising staff, organizing program logistics, and maintaining associated facilities. The Lead Attendant sets the tone for fun, safety, and engagement while ensuring a seamless, fun, and memorable guest experience each day. This position reports to the Director of Children’s Programs.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children and/or in outdoor recreation programming
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Familiarity with outdoor recreation and activity-based programming, particularly in a camp or resort setting, required
  • Strong working knowledge of basic computer systems and the ability to quickly learn new software applications
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Customer service-oriented with the ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs professionally and proactively
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining a positive and engaging environment
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure or in emergency situations
  • Physical ability to lead outdoor activities and work in varying weather conditions and terrains
  • Ability to interact professionally and collaboratively with guests, children, and staff at all levels

Nice To Haves

  • college coursework or a degree in education, recreation, outdoor leadership, or a related field preferred
  • Experience operating or instructing in one or more of the following areas is a plus: paintball, mountain boarding, climbing, fishing, or similar activities
  • Knowledge of child development, group dynamics, and behavior management strategies preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist the manager with the daily operations of assigned Camp Aspen Snowmass (CAS) programs and take primary responsibility for a designated program area
  • Plan and lead a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, which may include paintball, mountain boarding, fishing, climbing, and other recreational programming
  • Support hiring, training, and scheduling of seasonal and hourly staff
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision, and performance feedback to program staff
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety standards, risk management procedures, and licensing regulations related to assigned activities
  • Deliver ongoing staff education on operating procedures, product knowledge, upselling techniques, guest service excellence, relevant software systems, and current CAS or Aspen Skiing Company policies and events
  • Gather and share guest and staff feedback to support continuous improvement of CAS programming, services, and team performance
  • Assess situations and problem-solve in real time, making sound decisions even with limited information
  • Respond to guest complaints and concerns promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Other duties as assigned
