About The Position

Arcadia Elementary is seeking an Hourly Activity Helper to supervise students during lunch and recess. This position involves ensuring student safety, maintaining order in eating areas and on the playground, and interacting with children through play. The role requires adherence to school guidelines and collaboration with the building behavior team.

Requirements

Supply proof of High School Diploma or accredited equivalency.
Evidence of effective oral communication skills.
Evidence of behavior that demonstrates a positive role model for students.
Availability for employment during lunch hours of the school year.
Previous record of good attendance.
Ability and willingness to follow guidelines.
Ability to play with students.

Nice To Haves

History of working successfully with elementary students.

Responsibilities

Supervise students during lunch and recess in conjunction with the building behavior team.
Check Activity Helper Bulletin Board or meet with Lead Activity Helper for daily assignments.
Supervise students in designated eating locations and on the playground (all seasons).
Ensure tables are cleared of trays and debris, and that no recess equipment or personal items are left on the playground.
Take assigned groups to designated areas until the lunch period is over.
Remain with students at all times and be responsible for their safety.
Become familiar with the Activity Helper Binder, its contents, and location.
Attend meetings as scheduled.
Interact with children each day through play.
Perform other duties as assigned.
