About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at White Elementary School as an Activity Helper. This part-time position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about fostering a positive and engaging environment. The Activity Helper will assist in organizing and supervising recreational activities, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all students.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • One (1) year of childcare experience
  • Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.
  • Must know how to play the violin and/or Folklorico Dance
  • FBI fingerprint background check required.
  • Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to pass a background check as required by school policy.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including afternoons and occasional weekends.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus but not required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of daily activities and programs for students.
  • Supervise students during recreational activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Encourage student participation and engagement in various activities.
  • Provide support to teachers and staff during special events and programs.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized activity area.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents regarding activities and schedules.
  • Monitor student behavior and promote positive interactions among peers.
  • Assist with setup and cleanup of activities and events.
  • Report any concerns or issues regarding student safety or behavior to appropriate staff.
