About The Position

Sunnyside Residential ARF, located in Torrance, California, offers a community-based group home environment for residents with primary mental health diagnoses. The Activities Program is a vital and often cherished part of the residents' daily experience. We are seeking a hands-on, creative Activities Coordinator eager to positively impact our residents' lives.

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a work physical.
• Must be able to take a tuberculosis screening if no proof of one in the last year.

• Knowledge of diagnoses and conditions of residents.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point person for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the facility's activity programs.
• Implement planned activity procedures, including creating decorations, setting up equipment, facilitating art projects and crafts, hosting and playing games, escorting residents to and from activities, and awarding prizes.
• Encourage resident engagement in activities.
• Create and submit monthly activity schedules for approval, including any necessary budget or equipment requests.
• Oversee residents during scheduled activities to promote their physical, social, and mental well-being, utilizing knowledge of resident diagnoses and conditions.
• Assist with the overall operation of the ARF as needed.
