About The Position

Make a meaningful difference—every single day. We are hiring for an Activity and Residential Care Coordinator at our Simpsonville, SC Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility. At Broadstep Behavioral Health, we provide structured, therapeutic care to children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs. As an Activity & Residential Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in shaping the daily experience of the individuals we serve—creating engaging, therapeutic programming while helping ensure continuity of care across medical, clinical, and residential services. This is a hands-on, highly collaborative role ideal for someone who thrives in a structured environment, enjoys working with youth, and is passionate about making a real impact through both care coordination and meaningful engagement.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with children or adolescents in: Behavioral health Residential care Special education
  • Experience with: Developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Trauma-informed care
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass: Background check Drug screening Health screening
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills
  • Ability to engage individuals with diverse behavioral needs
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and scheduling
  • Ability to remain active and responsive throughout shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely perform crisis intervention techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Psychology, Recreation Therapy, or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and facilitate structured therapeutic and recreational programming aligned with treatment plans
  • Design activities that support coping skills, emotional regulation, and social development
  • Utilize trauma-informed and person-centered approaches
  • Maintain consistent activity schedules across all shifts
  • Monitor and document participation and engagement
  • Coordinate medical, dental, vision, and psychiatric appointments
  • Maintain accurate appointment logs and communication with staff
  • Ensure all documentation and consents are prepared in advance
  • Communicate follow-up needs to the interdisciplinary team
  • Safely transport residents to appointments and approved activities
  • Ensure supervision, safety, and compliance during transport
  • Conduct vehicle safety checks and maintain logs and documentation
  • Complete required documentation, including: Activity participation logs Appointment tracking Incident reports / General Event Reporting
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards
  • Adhere to all PRTF regulatory requirements (SCDHHS, DSS, and applicable standards)
  • Serve as a mandatory reporter for abuse, neglect, or exploitation
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and investigations as required
  • Partner with clinical, nursing, and operations teams
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and direct care staff
