About The Position

The Activity Instructor plans, organizes, and implements engaging activities tailored to participants’ interests, needs, and abilities. The role promotes social interaction, physical wellness, and cognitive stimulation, while fostering an inclusive, safe, and accessible environment that enriches participants’ daily experiences and supports personal growth and well-being. The instructor works with staff, volunteers, and external partners to coordinate activities and contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in activity planning, recreation, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, including individuals with special needs.
• Basic proficiency with computer applications for scheduling and record-keeping.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in activity coordination or therapeutic recreation, such as CTRS.
• Experience in healthcare, senior living, or community service settings.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Proficiency with digital tools and social media to promote activities and engage participants.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement recreational, educational, and social activities suited to participants’ interests and abilities.
• Coordinate schedules, resources, and logistics for activities and events.
• Gather participant feedback and assess activity effectiveness and enjoyment, making adjustments as needed.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, caregivers, and community organizations to align activities with participants’ needs and goals.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, activity outcomes, and incidents in compliance with organizational policies and regulations.
